Kyrgyzstan is perhaps the melting pot of Central Asia. With a mix of cultures, religions, and beliefs, the country defies an easy interpretation. Out of the ashes of the Soviet Union rose an ancient, proud people who are learning to define themselves in this post-modern world.

Islam here is understated and soft spoken. Strangers here are smiling and kind. And the horses roam freely across green valleys.
